Marina + Keith have been planning their wedding day from all the way over in Alberta. They booked their wedding venue without stepping foot in it themselves, and did Zoom and phone meetings/consults with all of their vendors, myself included. I can’t imagine the additional stress the remote planning must have been causing them, but you really couldn’t tell any of that when we finally got to meet in person for their engagement session. They were so calm, chill and down-to-earth, and just a joy to be around.
They were in town visiting family and friends for Thanksgiving and of course they made time for a bit of wedding planning too. And to make things even more fortunate, I was able to squeeze in their engagement session among their schedule and my own family get-togethers. They also happened to pick one (well technically two) of my favourite locations in the city – The Arboretum and Ornamental Gardens.
They were originally hoping for Fall colours as they primarily have coniferous trees back home, but Mother Nature wasn’t quite ready to let all those colours shine just yet. We did manage to find a few trees that were a bit ahead of their leafy friends so we squeaked some of those Fall colours into their photos.
I had such a lovely morning with them strolling through the parks and getting to know them a little bit more. And I am so incredibly excited for their wedding day later on this year! Because it means I get to spend a bit more time with them and get to meet what I am sure are their wonderful friends and family. And as an added bonus, it is at my favourite venue in the Ottawa Area: Temple’s Country Weddings!
