So I learned a new word just a few weeks before Evelyn was born – Nibling. It is apparently the gender neutral term for niece or nephew and it sounds adorable!! So in light of this new information, I decided to share the images of Jackson + Evelyn, my little niblings, on the first full day of Evelyn’s life.

A big congratulations to my Brother and Sister-in-law on their new adorable little girl, Evelyn Audrey. And of course, congratulations to little Jackson who is now a Big Brother!!
Old is New Again
When Dave was little his dad built him a wooden firetruck. It is a beautiful hand-made piece that Dave loved playing with as a little boy. Years later, when Dave and I starting dating, I learnt that I loved photographing it whenever I visited his parents’ home as it really is a nice piece. When we moved into our new house, Dave’s parents brought it to us and it has been sitting in our front room by the piano for the past couple years. And on his most recent visit to our house, I let our nephew Jackson play with it and he apparently loved it too!
SOOC #15
This week’s SOOC feature is a photo I took back in July of my adorable nephew Jackson.
The before is on the left and after on the right.
I haven’t done too much to the original photo, just enhanced the light and contrast of the photo and sharpened it a wee bit.
This is a pretty typical edit for me, in fact it is what I do to most of my clients’ photos.
