Rockcliffe Pavilion Wedding: Maritza + Ismael

Do you remember near the start of the summer when the forecast was calling for rain literally every afternoon? As the day passed the forecast would push the rain further another hour again and again until eventually it would just push it to the next day’s forecast. As a photographer, this was incredibly annoying! Not only were couple’s unsure as to whether or not we would need to postpone their engagement or family session, but no one had any clue what wedding days were going to be in terms of the weather. And this of course meant I had to pack and carry around way more equipment than I really needed to. Very annoying.

Although to be honest, it was always a plus when that rain was pushed to the next day because it meant our couples got a beautiful, albeit very hot and humid, wedding day instead of one that needed towels and umbrellas. This was the case for Maritza + Ismael, who persevered through the muggy weather like champs and definitely made the most of not on the weather, but also the gorgeous location they had chosen!

Cedarhill Golf & Country Club Ottawa Wedding: Karrington + Adam

Wow, we just barely squeezed this wedding day in before everything got super shutdown here in Ontario. And I am sooo glad we did! Karrington + Adam had already changed up their wedding plans so much that I would have hated for them to have to take it down to the barest of bones at the last minute. But that wasn’t needed and they had a beautiful, intimate ceremony surrounded by friends + family and lots of love from those watching at home.

Ottawa Studio Newborn Session: Sikander

Well, here we are again Ontario — lockdown. Which means our Newborn & Family Studio is once again shutdown and there will be another group of newborns who can’t get a session in the regular newborn timeframe. But fear not parents, because you can definitely still get newborn photos outside of those first couple weeks and they will still be super adorable!

Need proof? Well Little Sikander here will show you how it’s done!

Perth Manor Wedding: Currie + Dan

When Dave and I planned our own wedding, we didn’t want our wedding party’s plus ones to be sitting at random tables with people they didn’t know. Neither of us would have enjoyed that experience ourselves so we didn’t want to impose it on anyone else. So, to still have a head table but not make anyone lonely during dinner, we invited all of wedding parties significant others to join us at the head table.

Now it may seem odd to start off someone else’s wedding post with a story of our own wedding, but there’s a point, I promise. You see, it was at this head table on our wedding day that we first met Currie. She had been dating Dan for a little while but had never met our friend group so she wouldn’t have known anyone she sat with. In hindsight, I realize now that she would have been fine as she is the nicest person ever and it is pretty much impossible to not like her, but it’s always nice to be with your person at a big event.

I suppose it is a little weird to have someone at your head table you have never met, but it worked out wonderfully in the end as we have all become great friends … oh and she and Dan got married, so I suppose it worked out for them too 😉
