I honestly don’t even know where to start when describing Sarah + Isabelle’s wedding day because literally every thing about it was a complete and utter knockout! The decor, the vendors, the view, the people, the shenanigans and, because it deserves to be mentioned at least twice, the people! Seriously even with all the amazing things that this wedding had, the people were what made it so indescribably amazing. From the wedding party to the families everyone was so sweet and helpful and full of so much love for this wonderful couple.
I sometimes can’t believe it has been 4 years since we started working with Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario – the time really has flown by! So much so that whenever anyone asks us how long we have been photographing their events, I really don’t have a quick answer, and often end up getting it wrong when I try to guesstimate. But when Wine for Wishes comes around each year it is like our little anniversary with this absolutely wonderful charity and, for us, it makes an already great event even better!
I am pretty sure I have mentioned this before, but one of my absolute favourite parts of a wedding day is when I get to play with all of the bride’s details during her prep. There are not only lots of shiny things, but I am more often than not just left alone to do my thing as everyone else has their own stuff to do to get ready for the big day. Normally this part of my day lasts for may be 10 or 15 minutes, sometimes a little longer if they have a lot of items and I arrived extra early. But for Jenn + Bergil’s wedding I got to play with all the gorgeous jewelry and her stunning dress for over 45 minutes and I was in absolute heaven!!
I try not to schedule too many double header wedding weekends for us as they make for very slow moving days afterwards as my body recuperates (two weddings in a row leads to some extremely sore feet and legs, and perhaps more importantly, a brain that doesn’t really function at full capacity). But when I met with Jenn I just knew we had to be a part of her and Bergil’s wedding day, and I am so glad we were!
If there is anything I have learned over the years it is that wedding days can be chaotic and stressful at times. And there have definitely been days where the stress of the couple has passed along to me and gotten me a little stressed out too. But then there are weddings like Nathalie + Marc-Andre’s. They had planned such a peaceful, relaxed, family-filled day and they didn’t let anything sway them from that disposition.
