Babies come in all sizes but I must admit, the teeny tiny ones make my job a little easier on my old joints and limbs, haha! So yes, I loved that Sweet Baby Chloe was just a tiny 5.5 pounder because it made holding her and carrying her around that much easier on my arms and back.
Sweet Baby Selim was just absolutely darling throughout his entire newborn session. Not only did he give me multiple teeny baby smiles during his time in front of the camera, but he was just so darn lovable!!
When it comes to babies some into the studio super sleepy and completely ready for their session, and others need a little extra time to get a snack (or occasionally have full meal), some cuddles and/or a little bit of awake time before they are set for their time in front of the camera. But lucky for me, Darling Baby Valerie fell into that first category and was ready for her session the moment she arrived!
I had a huge list of props, poses and outfits for Baby Luka. And this was after having cut it in half when I was prepping the studio. I was certain he wouldn’t get through it all, since the list was seriously massive, but not only was I determined to do as much as possible, I really couldn’t bear to go without any of the options.
Now to be fair, I do always over prep so that I am ready for both the worst case scenario, where they want nothing to do with non-swaddled photos, and best case scenario, where they are sleepy the entire time and fall into every pose effortlessly. So yeah, having more ready to go than I know we will get through is normal, but it had been so long since I had a baby boy in the studio that I really struggled choosing what items to use and what not to use.
Well, here we are again Ontario — lockdown. Which means our Newborn & Family Studio is once again shutdown and there will be another group of newborns who can’t get a session in the regular newborn timeframe. But fear not parents, because you can definitely still get newborn photos outside of those first couple weeks and they will still be super adorable!
Need proof? Well Little Sikander here will show you how it’s done!
