Every so often I get messages from parents about whether or not their slightly older baby can still do a newborn session – and my answer is almost always yes, and at the very worst, the answer is we can certainly try!
For years I have gathered things and held onto them. Not so much in a hoarding way, more of a ‘I’m going to craft something with this later’ kind of way. For example, when we had to cut down the lilac tree in our backyard (it had died for some unknown reason), I had Dave cut me some long branches for a project I had in mind. About 7 or so years later, and the branches are now called sticks and they are still in a corner in my craft room. I mean, I will eventually get around to that project … maybe.
Sweet Baby Selim was just absolutely darling throughout his entire newborn session. Not only did he give me multiple teeny baby smiles during his time in front of the camera, but he was just so darn lovable!!
You never quite know how a wee babe is going to be when they show up at the studio. They could be super cranky and hate being posed or be oh so very sleepy and not really mind at all when you move them about. Most of the time they are somewhere in between and let me pose them for a little bit and then get a little cranky (which is when I typically switch to swaddled poses so they are nice and happy). But when it came time for Baby Theodore’s session I was gifted with the second sleepiest babe I have ever had in the studio!!
Where do I even start with Baby Roy’s amazing newborn session?! I mean, he was just so utterly adorable and his good looks were clearly from the amazing genes his parents passed down to him. But more than that, he was just so precious and wonderful to spend a few hours with. Baby Roy also let me test out a few new prototypes and designs from our Prop Shoppe, which is always an extra special treat for me.
