I’m always a little nervous when it comes to younger siblings’ sessions. Not because they are any different than firstborn newborn sessions, but because sometimes babies are worn out by the time we get through family and sibling photos and their solo photos don’t go as smoothly because of this. I’m throwing it way back with this blog post as Mariam and Ramy’s maternity session was photographed all the way back in 2021. It is one of the few blog posts that I have in my backlog that aren’t there because of our own pregnancy (and then the craziness that happens in those first couple years). Mariam and Ramy had asked that I not post their maternity photos until after their little one had arrived, but since I have photographed his newborn and first year photos and he is even bigger than that now, I think I could knock this one off my ‘to blog’ list safely now.

I do a lot of lifestyle newborn session indoors, specifically in the family’s home, so when Courtney + Scott asked if we could do their newborn session in a park I was super on board! I just loved the idea of changing things up a bit and of course the summer time is a great chance to get everyone outdoors.

A few years before Willow’s newborn session it was her big Brother‘s turn in front of the camera. And let me tell you, he was not happy about it. We managed to get family photos and one or two setups of Henry done that day but he ended up having to come back on a different day when he was in a better mood. Well, low and behold, Little Sis’ Willow was in pretty much the exact same mood when it came to her newborn photos.

This darling little girl is a fair bit bigger these days, but she’s just as cute today as she was when she was about 6 months old.
