
Proposal sessions have to be some of my favourite things to do! Not only do you get to meet a new couple and have a great time grabbing some engagement photos for them, but before all that starts you get to capture the very beginning of their wedding story!
They can be a little nerve-wracking for us too as you never know exactly what is going to happen – by which I mean where they are going to stand and face (you can chat about it beforehand, but there is no adjustments possible during the main event). Although somehow I think the whole thing is more nerve-wracking for the one popping the question! But Peter did an absolutely marvelous job and it was so exciting to get to see the look of surprise and excitement on Alexis’ face!!

So you know how I had that unofficial goal to capture a proposal? And then how I got that chance earlier this year? Well apparently I really should have made it an official goal for 2017 because I got to capture another one at the Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope event we were a part of!
After he has proposed, and after she had said yes, Helen + Yale joined me for an absolutely delightful engagement session. One of the first stops was actually behind the Parliament buildings, overlooking the city. And as I stood there I could pretty much see the spot further up the river where Dave had proposed to me not so long ago. I realized that I had just captured their proposal in such close proximity to where my own had taken place, and that made this special day even more memorable.
