I have never been a patient person. I think anyone who knows me would attest to that fact. But, sometimes in life you just have to wait and when I started in the business of weddings, I learned that waiting is a big part of it.
Most couples book their weddings roughly a year in advance (on average), and for the majority of them, their wedding photographer is one of the first things they get in place. So this means, that after meeting a super awesome couple and hearing about their amazing wedding plans, I have to sit around and wait for months and months before I get to shoot said amazing wedding. That part sucks – the waiting. But for a lot of our couples, we have engagement sessions, which are a great idea for many reasons, but I really enjoy them as it gives me a chance to hang out with that awesome couple before their wedding day.
But sometimes, like with Laura + Kevin’s session, you end up waiting for that too.
We met Laura + Kevin at the Starfish Wedding Workshop we were lucky enough to be a part of. And it was shortly after that we started planning their engagement session. They knew right out of the gate that they wanted to have their session at Rockcliffe Park and I was definitely up for that (it is a gorgeous area with a great mix of nature and beautiful architecture to work with.). But we then had a hard time finding a day for the session itself. We tried to get a late Fall or early Winter session set up, but Mother Nature was having none of that. Eventually though, after some not so patient waiting on my part, we found a time that fit in their busy schedule (and ours) and boy oh boy, was it a great session!
These two are so adorable and the love they have for one another is so evident. I absolutely loved working with you guys as you made my job so easy (and accepted my slow pace due from my tiredness from the previous night’s wedding). Thank you both so much for the fantastic afternoon in the park, you two definitely made your session worth the wait!!
