Once the gorgeous Fall season is done, so is our regular busy season. As we are primarily wedding photographers, our off-season starts up basically when winter starts to show up and we have far fewer weddings. But it is always such a nice treat to be able to wrap up our busy season by giving back and supporting one of the many wonderful charities in the area, Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario, by capturing their annual 3 Wishes Gala.
This event is a treat for everyone involved from the guests, Wish families, sponsors and the employees and volunteers of Make-A-Wish themselves. The generous sponsors who make this evening the huge success that is is each year did such an amazing job this year. The Ottawa Conference and Event Centre looked absolutely perfect and I think everyone had such a fantastic time throughout the evening.
For us, the highlights were definitely the children though. Getting to hear about some of the wishes granted to local Wish Kids is always so heartwarming. It is so great to see photos and/or videos from their wish as you really get to see just how much it impacts their lives. The positive force is undeniable for sure!
As the name of the gala would imply, throughout the evening 3 wishes are granted and it is always so wonderful to watch them as these kids and their families are not only incredibly kind and loving, but they really do embody everything this charity stands for: Hope, Strength and Joy. Getting to wintess these kids and their families have such happy moments really are memories that stick with us.
