If you follow us even semi-regularly, you will already know how much we love working with Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario. Not only does this charity do such amazing work in our community, but the people who work and volunteer there are truly some of the best in the world! So when they called us and asked if we wanted to be a part of a very special campaign we not only said yes, but were super happy to do so.
In honour of Canada 150th birthday, wish child Dominique wants to wish it forward and raise 1.5 million dollars to help 150 children with a life threatening medical condition receive their wish through the Make-A-Wish foundation of Eastern Ontario.
How you may ask? By 10,000 wonderful individuals making donations of $150 or by pledging to donate $10 a month for 15 months! This will raise enough funds to bring 150 wishes to life! The campaign is called 150 Wishes and you can be a part of it by donating on the campaign’s website.
We got together with Dominique and a bunch of other wish children and their families to take some portraits and a great big group photo for the campaign and Dominique even directed and produced a video of the day to draw attention to the importance of not only how her wish continues to impact her life, but also how that is true of hundreds of other wish recipients as well. When Dominique says that the impact of wish goes far beyond the wish day itself, it really is true and we have been fortunate enough to see that in every wish child we have met and worked with.

You may think that wrangling up that many people for portraits and a big group photo that needed to be in a very specific formation would be difficult, but with a fair bit of planning (Dave was a huge help in figuring out how big the numbers needed to be and the spacing of everyone), and with the help of the volunteers and participants, it was actually much simpler and easier than expected. Everyone was so on-board with the campaign, it was absolutely amazing!
