During my very first wedding (or really shoot of any kind) at Andrew Haydon Park it rained. It rained a lot. It rained so much that we never really left the bandshell when it came time for the wedding photos.
During my second wedding at Andrew Haydon Park, we were running short on time and never really left the waterfall. It was a lovely day, but the fact that we had to get back downtown as quickly as possible meant we didn’t get to explore the park as much as I would have liked.
But during this third wedding at Andrew Haydon Park, there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight and it felt like we had all the time we wanted (we didn’t, but it felt like that for a bit)! But honestly, that wasn’t even the best part – this amazing couple and their incredibly fun wedding party was definitely a million times better than any location!
Andrea + Anthony have to be two of the kindest people we have ever had the pleasure of working with. And to make things even better, I absolutely loved everything about their wedding day – well maybe not everything.
The heat that long weekend was absolutely insane (the heat warnings were definitely warranted), and standing in the direct sun for multiple hours was exhausting. I have learned over the last few years that I am pretty good at ignoring whatever it is that my body needs while I am capturing a wedding, whether it be hunger or just tired feet. But on this day, there was no ignoring the heat. In fact, I don’t know if I have ever sweat more while shooting. And we definitely blasted the AC and drank every drop of the water we had in our cooler once we got back to our car.
Luckily this group had thought about the heat in advance and brought along lots of water for them and their guests (and us too!). And fortunately for the guys, one of the first conversations we had with Tony when we arrived at the park was about ditching the jackets for the majority of the day. But, in the end, dealing with that heat was so worth it because we really did have such a wonderful time with Andrea + Tony and their amazing group of family and friends. And, as an added bonus, I am completely over the moon with the images we created with them all!
Andrea + Anthony had planned one of the loveliest intimate weddings we have ever been a part of. And although the guest list was small, the festivities, joy and sheer delight for these two kind-hearted people was truly immeasurable.
Huge thanks to all of the amazing vendors who made this day so beautiful.
