I grew up with an older brother who, if I’m being honest, I wasn’t super close to until we became adults (mostly just because we didn’t have a lot in common growing up). And now that I think about it, most of my current friends also consist of two kid families with one boy and one girl. And the few that lie outside that trend tend to be boy-boy combos (or they are 1 of 3 kids, but again more boys than girls). All this to say that my experience with sisters has been limited over the years (other than sisters-in-law of course, wherein I am super lucky and have pretty awesome ones!).
Most everything on TV shows such a special bond between sisters, and now that I get to see that on our wedding days as sisters quickly become maids of honour, I see that that connection is incredibly real. So it was a special treat to be able to see the early days of that bond during this newborn and family session.
Cara’s big sister Abby really did seem to adore her sister and loved to help make her smile – and what a great smile this little baby has! Now I am sure there will be bumps along the road of sisterhood, but I am also certain that these two girls are pretty much set for life when it comes to a best friend – and that really is something special.
I had such a great time with Nicole, Richard and their two adorable (and extremely well-behaved) girls. It really was not only a pleasure but a true delight to be able to spend the morning with them and capture a little tidbit of their daily life as a family.
