The 2018 wedding season was pretty darn amazing and I don’t think there could have been any better way to wrap up all this amazing-ness than with Emilie + Maxie’s wedding day! Not only was it at one of our absolute favourite venues, but these two were just about the sweetest, cutest people we have ever worked with! And they of course included their baby boy – I mean, does it get any cuter than a baby in a suit?!
Now when we first started chatting with Emilie + Maxime about their wedding day they were hoping that the leaves would still be on the trees so it wouldn’t be all brown and boring in the forest. I think we all realized it would be a little chilly, it was the second weekend of November after all, but no one was expected the weather we ended up with!
Mother Nature definitely had a completely different set of plans up her sleeve for this wedding day and it included a fresh dusting of snow everywhere, and a very cold wind howling through the area! This of course meant that an outdoor ceremony was going to be very uncomfortable for the guests, who, considering that this cold weather came out of practically nowhere, wouldn’t have necessarily been prepared. Luckily the wonderful staff at Temple’s had us covered and made sure the indoors ceremony location was prepped and beautiful.
And although we did a few photos indoors, Emilie + Maxime (and their awesome maid of honour and best man) braved the cold and we got some really gorgeous photos with all that snow! I am really happy Dave decided to join me this day as my assistant as it made it a lot easier to keep Emilie warm between shots as he ended up being the official blanket holder and wrap-around-er. A pit stop indoors for a few photos in the loft area, and of course a bit cup of hot chocolate once we got back into the reception and that cold weather was quickly forgotten.
What I actually found the funniest was that despite the constant wind that day, Dave still had to toss the veil for me to be able to get a flying veil shot! The weather really wasn’t cooperating with me at all! But the cold weather definitely didn’t get anyone down for long at this wedding as everyone was so happy and filled with love for this amazing couple. And I just want to thank Emilie + Maxime for not only letting us capture their day for them, but for being the perfect ending to a freaking fantastic wedding season!
A special thanks and shout out to all the vendors who helped make this day awesome:
