The 2018 wedding season was pretty darn amazing and I don’t think there could have been any better way to wrap up all this amazing-ness than with Emilie + Maxie’s wedding day! Not only was it at one of our absolute favourite venues, but these two were just about the sweetest, cutest people we have ever worked with! And they of course included their baby boy – I mean, does it get any cuter than a baby in a suit?!

By now I am sure you all know just how much we love the Make-A-Wish foundation. These truly amazing people have the biggest hearts and work so hard to make lives brighter for children with critical illnesses by granting them truly life-changing wishes. Working with them is always such an honour and something that both Dave and I look forward to each and every time.
Each year we capture a few of their annual events, including their end of the year Gala. It is an ever-changing event that is definitely something we are excited to be a part of. This year’s event took the theme of the Holidays and created a smorgasbord of deliciousness for guests though the Taste of the Holidays event.
Another off-season month means another wedding show. This time we were able to participate in the Love, Handmade Wedding Show, which is a little different than other shows since it is held at night, is licensed, has a signature cocktail and held in a very unique venue.
We were a part of so many shows last year and to be honest, it was too many. We were so worn out by the end and we also weren’t able to take full advantage of them as we found that we were turning away most of the interested couples based on not being available for their wedding date.
So this year, we decided to cut back on the number of shows we did – big time. In the end, we are only doing a couple shows this year and we have tried to pick ones that are pretty different from each other. Our first show was the always fantastic Tie the Knot Wedding Show just this past weekend and I am so glad we kept it on our list.
When I planned my own wedding a few years back, I picked up the Ottawa Wedding Magazine to help me sift through the seemingly endless options when it came to vendors in the area. It was a huge help. It was also about this time that I started my goal of having one of the weddings we photographed featured in the magazine. And now, just a few years later we are up to 3 features/articles in this fantastic publication (hopefully with more to come)!!
