We were a part of so many shows last year and to be honest, it was too many. We were so worn out by the end and we also weren’t able to take full advantage of them as we found that we were turning away most of the interested couples based on not being available for their wedding date.
So this year, we decided to cut back on the number of shows we did – big time. In the end, we are only doing a couple shows this year and we have tried to pick ones that are pretty different from each other. Our first show was the always fantastic Tie the Knot Wedding Show just this past weekend and I am so glad we kept it on our list.
This is a one-day show and it is smaller than some of the other Ottawa bridal shows in terms of number of vendors, although it seems to be growing every year, but it is just jam-packed with all sorts of wedding goodness! While setting up this year I definitely noticed that pretty much every vendor really kicked it up a notch in terms of their booth decor and as a result the show was absolutely gorgeous!
Our own booth was the same base design we have used for the past several shows, but I am still so in love with it. We did however try to simplify things a bit and we got rid of almost all of our nick-knacks and trinkets and instead opted for some gorgeous greenery and florals provided by the oh-so-talented ladies at Pollen Nation Floral Studio.
We got a lot of compliments on our booth and I really think the less busy front table and shelves really helped us create a cleaner look while still being able to showcase not only our work, but also our love of bringing natural elements into our work.
And of course, once our booth was mostly up (okay, so pretty much just the walls were up and I felt like I needed a little break from setting up), I ventured to two of our favourite vendors who were also at the show to grab some shots of their setups.
Steph & Kiley (and their amazing team members and family) of Opportunity Knocks Events did a fantastic job putting together this stunning booth. Seriously it was gorgeous. I loved all of the greenery mixed with those bright colours and pops of gold. The collaborated with several different vendors to help out with their booth and everyone really brought their A-game.
And last but certainly not least, there is the always sweet Melanie from Sweet Clementines. The ladies from OK Events helped with the booth design (and did a lovely job if I say so myself), but what always knocks it out of the park for me are the scrumptious samples Mel brings. Honest to goodness, these are some of my all time favourite cupcakes – especially the chocolate ones! And, as an added bonus, we got to go home with a bunch of them (I may have had mini cupcakes for dinner that night).
We had such an amazing time at this show and had so many wonderful conversations with engaged couples (and their entourages of course) and we are so looking forward to the next show as I think it is only getting to get even better (if that is even possible).
If you attended the show and entered our contest for a free engagement session, keep an eye on your inbox as those emails are going out shortly.
Wow Great Pictures. Specially one with cake and cupcakes. Great efforts and Great Work. Appreciate your work.
