Little Quinn was a very special visitor to the studio last month as her first year portraits (and cake smash!) marked the fourth session with this amazing family. Following their engagement session and wedding I was so, so happy to be able to help this amazing couple announce their pregnancy. So with all of that, being able to capture this adorable little girl’s cake smash was pretty darn awesome.
But honestly, even if I hadn’t had the pleasure of working with these guys before, I would have loved this session so much! Not only is Little Quinn just about the cutest baby ever, but she has two amazing people to call her parents. Alyssa + David are kind and thoughtful — and super creative and stylish too! Alyssa sent me over a Pinterest board (one of many shared boards between the two of us, haha!) and I was completely head over heels with the ideas she had for the session! I absolutely loved embracing the season with all the pumpkins, while still not being too heavily themed as Alyssa had painted them in delightfully girly colours.
Also, can I point out those cute little moccasin slippers for a second, because those puppies are straight from their pregnancy announcement and I got a real kick (pun intended) out of seeing them again, this time on those tiny feet.
First year sessions tend to be on the shorter side as one-year olds don’t really last long in front of the camera, but even though we did so many different things with Little Quinn, she did such a great job and lasted the entire session without any serious meltdowns (provided we let her suck on some props and toss all of her headbands on the floor every now and then).
I really did love getting to catch up with Alyssa + David and especially loved getting to meet this darling little girl (although I missed hanging out with their puppers). I definitely ended this session with an enormous smile on my face, so thank you all so much for that!!
