What happens when a baby decides to wake up and stay awake for their entire newborn session — well you’re about to find out because that is exactly what Little Baby Amber decided to do for her session!
One pose into her session, Little Amber woke up and decided that it was best for everyone if she stayed that way. But honestly, I didn’t really mind, we managed to get some photos on the beanbag before she woke up completely and her being awake meant we got to see her pretty, pretty eyes! Plus her cuteness throughout the entire session more than made up for the struggle of trying to get her to sleep again, even when we inevitably failed (although I am sure she fell asleep pretty soundly on the way home).
And if those parents look familiar it’s because you have probably seen their wedding photos before! Ellen + Graham were one of our rock star couples back in 2017 and that beautiful image of them standing in the Evermore fields just before sunset still graces the cover of our Wedding Guide to this day. They were complete naturals in front of the camera then and continued to be during Amber’s session too!
I think one of my favourite things about this session was the fact that Ellen + Graham weren’t set on sticking with traditionally girly colours like pink and purple. Don’t get me wrong, I love pink and purple (they are my favourite colours after all), but I love getting to use less traditionally girly colours like these gorgeous blue tones! To me, this session is just as soft and feminine as any pink session I have done before, although I suppose that ruffly bum outfit definitely helps with that – and looks so darn cute too!
