I honestly don’t even know where to start with this one folks. Baby Alice was a dream to work with. She was passed out when she arrived and pretty much stayed that way the whole time she was here, even when I dragged her session out for almost an extra hour (because it’s hard to stop when the baby is being so amazing)! But more importantly than any of that, this session was extra special because it was for dear friends of ours who we have known for sooo long now!
I should probably pause to apologize to everyone that this post is likely going to be sappy, sentimental, and full of cheesy phrases, but bear with me. We’ve known Andrew for over a decade (I honestly didn’t believe it when I did the math to figure this out)! He’s been through some crazy (and often hilarious) times in that time, but I think Little Baby Alice will truly be his greatest adventure yet.
There were some great highlights from this session, like the fact that Baby Alice did almost every pose I asked of her, fit so nicely into all the outfits I had set out for her, and made a perfect potato that didn’t need to be held up for her final photos (a spotter was needed just in case). And although, the photo of her with her toy bunny is absolutely previous (a toy the same size as her now, but will inevitably so much smaller as she grows up), I think my absolute favourite photo + moment from this session is when Andrew was holding little Baby Alice for her Daddy + Baby shots. The way her tiny fingers clasped onto Andrew forefinger is just about the cutest thing in the entire freaking world! I mean, if that doesn’t warm your heart, I don’t know what will!!
It was so incredibly heartwarming to see Andrew + Cathy in their new role as parents. They way they adored their little girl and were just so completely wonderful with her made me so very happy for them. I had such a great time with this session and loved being able to capture this special time for their new family.
