Rockcliffe Pavilion Wedding: Maritza + Ismael

Do you remember near the start of the summer when the forecast was calling for rain literally every afternoon? As the day passed the forecast would push the rain further another hour again and again until eventually it would just push it to the next day’s forecast. As a photographer, this was incredibly annoying! Not only were couple’s unsure as to whether or not we would need to postpone their engagement or family session, but no one had any clue what wedding days were going to be in terms of the weather. And this of course meant I had to pack and carry around way more equipment than I really needed to. Very annoying.

Although to be honest, it was always a plus when that rain was pushed to the next day because it meant our couples got a beautiful, albeit very hot and humid, wedding day instead of one that needed towels and umbrellas. This was the case for Maritza + Ismael, who persevered through the muggy weather like champs and definitely made the most of not on the weather, but also the gorgeous location they had chosen!

Perth Wedding at Temple’s Country Weddings: Marisca + Seth

I was so excited to be heading to Temple’s for our first 2021 wedding there. Not only because I just generally love this venue (and all the amazing people there) and we hadn’t been there in way too long (thanks covid), but also because I was so excited to get to capture Marisca + Seth’s wedding day! As I learned during their engagement session, these two are literally the cutest ever and I just knew that, no matter the weather, their wedding day was going to be full of so much love and laughter!

Ottawa Valley Fall Country Wedding: Melanie + Michael

It was super cold as we drove down the windy, dirt roads after Melanie + Michael’s wedding, but we still had the windows down. Why you might ask? Because I get car sick fairly easily on super winding, bumpy, hill-y roads and there was no other way to describe the route out from their quite remote wedding location.

Don’t get me wrong, it was stunning! So much so in fact, that I didn’t get too bothered on the drive up because I was so distracted by the gorgeous Fall colours. But it was getting dark on the way home, and I was very tired, so the nausea definitely set in and remained for almost the entire drive home. But it was a million per cent worth it to get to work among that beautiful nature, and with this amazingly sweet couple again!

Stonefields Estate Wedding: Tara + Dion

It had been almost exactly six months since Dave and I captured a full wedding day. I have been lucky enough to photograph a few elopements here and there, but nothing that lasted more than a couple hours. So when we headed over to the gorgeous Stonefields Estate for Tara + Dion’s wedding we knew our bodies were about to take a beating. But every aching, sore muscle was a million per cent worth it because not only was this day stunning, but Tara + Dion made sure to fill it with so much love and awesomeness that I almost didn’t notice my tired feet, almost.

Canadian Museum of Nature Winter Wedding: Jennifer + Steve

Museum-of-Nature-Winter-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographyJenn + Steve’s wedding day started off with clear weather, then moved into freezing rain/slush, and ended up having a mini-blizzard right in the middle of it! In fact, at one point in the day, the snowflakes were so dense and large that they looked completely fake (like they were made of foam and a wind machine)! Jenn wanted snow on her wedding day and boy-oh-boy did she get it! This wonderfully sweet couple definitely made the most of it during their portrait portion of the day! Getting completely drenched by the snow was definitely worth the shots we got out in that less than pleasant weather.⠀
