I honestly don’t even know where to start when describing Sarah + Isabelle’s wedding day because literally every thing about it was a complete and utter knockout! The decor, the vendors, the view, the people, the shenanigans and, because it deserves to be mentioned at least twice, the people! Seriously even with all the amazing things that this wedding had, the people were what made it so indescribably amazing. From the wedding party to the families everyone was so sweet and helpful and full of so much love for this wonderful couple.
Picking out a name for your child seems so intimidating to me. I mean, this is what you kid will be called for the rest of their lives (assuming they don’t absolutely hate it and end up changing it when they are legally able to). The name they will hear, sign and say again and again as they go through their daily routines. It is even the name others kids with manipulate to be able to make fun of them (and you can never think of all the things other kids may come up with to try to protect your child). So the idea of picking out a good one really does seem just so incredibly daunting to me.
But Marie-France + Robert thought of not only a beautiful name for their little one, but they found one that was based on a wonderful fictional character that will be a great role model for their girl as she grows up.
I love winter engagement sessions! And, if I’m being honest, I think winter may be my favourite season to shoot engagement sessions. Don’t get me wrong, I love engagement sessions any time of the year, but there is just something magical about an engaged couple in love amidst a snow covered landscape. Bundled up in a big scarf and wrapped up in each other’s arms – it doesn’t get much better than that really. I think the proof is in the pudding really, I mean just look at what Dana + Matt pulled off during their session at Gatineau Park.
Oh my goodness, the weather this year has been so ridiculously weird! Swapping between mild, rainy days and super cold temperature drops has resulted in a ground covering of both ice-topped snow and snow-covered ice. This has basically resulted in treacherous walking conditions wherever you go, which, for an already clumsy person like me, means a lot of falling. But I am happy to report that despite the weird walking conditions, I didn’t fall even once during Dana + Matt’s engagement session last week! It’s kind of a weird thing to be proud of, but I am.
For the past few years I have posted a Thank You to all of the couples we worked with over the year. It is hard to find new words to describe how lucky we are to be able to capture these big days and really when it comes right down to it I think a heartfelt Thank You is the best I have.
