If you have spent any time on our website, blog or social media pages you have probably noticed how much we love incorporating nature into our images as much as possible. And when you live and work in a city as nature-filled as Ottawa, it really isn’t hard.
In fact, some of our most urban sessions have had that beautiful nature feel to them in at least a handful of shots.
For the most part, our couples are pretty lucky with respect to weather and we don’t need to move very many of our engagement sessions around (*knock on wood*), but every year there is always one unlucky couple. That one engagement session that gets pushed back again and again because of the forecast calling for less than ideal weather. This year that honour went to Alyson + Dan (congrats guys!). We moved their session twice because of impending rain, and by the time the third date came around, we decided we were going for it no matter what the weather people were saying!
Ottawa weather can be so weird. Winter took forever to get here this year but when it came, it did so with a vengeance. Then near the beginning of February, a blast of mild, spring-like weather came around getting rid of a lot of that snow. And then it came right back in huge quantities. So unpredictable.
Today marks the second anniversary for my husband and I. Two years ago we finally walked down the aisle and made our commitment to one another official (although, I still say that the hefty mortgage we signed a year and half before our wedding was a pretty big commitment to one another, but I suppose our wedding was much more romantic).
When Dave and I were married, we officially got a new anniversary of September 29. We still, however, celebrated our old anniversary last year as it was habit really and this year, we will be celebrating it for the final time before we officially retire it. We will be celebrating it this one last time because today marks the tenth year we have been together!!
