Ottawa photographers really are such a lucky bunch as there are so many wonderful locations in and around this city. We are even luckier when it comes to our downtown core, as unlike most city centres, our is full of great urban scenes with an abundance of nature mixed in. So when Rebecca + Keith wanted an engagement session with both an urban and rural feel, there were definitely no issues accommodating.

We have had quite a few engagement sessions that had to be moved due to the extra rainy seasons this year and Rebecca + Keith’s session was definitely one of them. Their engagement session was postponed from a super rainy, dreary day to a slightly chilly, but occasionally sunny one.
I love it when couples bring along two different outfits to their engagement session: one more casual and relaxed; and the other more formal and dressed up. It allows us to essentially get two different batches of photos in one session. So when Carla + Jean-Francois asked if they could switch outfits partway through their session, I was all for it!
Downtown Ottawa can be a very busy place, full of people, cars and tons of construction. But it can also be a really peaceful place, especially if you hit it up on a not so busy evening or time. Such was the case with Carla+ Jean-Francois’ engagement session.
Among the heat, the humidity and the construction of downtown Ottawa on the evening of Tina + Kari’s session was their genuine kindness, laughter and love. And to say it was an honour to share an evening with these two would truly be an understatement.
