Niblings

So I learned a new word just a few weeks before Evelyn was born – Nibling. It is apparently the gender neutral term for niece or nephew and it sounds adorable!! So in light of this new information, I decided to share the images of Jackson + Evelyn, my little niblings, on the first full day of Evelyn’s life.

Evelyn’s day was spent at the hospital. She was born the evening before but this would be her first full day of life. Her Gramma, Grampa, Godmother and Godfather (aka Dave and me) came to visit her and shower her with love. This was also the day she met her Big Brother for the first time!

Meanwhile, Jackson woke up at home with Grampa and was then visited by Gramma, Dave and me. After we went to the hospital and Jackson got to put a name to the phrase “Baby Evie”, Dave and I took him home. After a well deserved nap and some time to wake up from said nap, Jackson got to play at the park. We learned once again that Jackson loves order as he needed to have the yellow ball go through the yellow hoop and the blue ball through the blue hoop. He had to have all of the cars lined up in a row where ever they were and the X’s and O’s on the spinny poles had all be the same.

Dave and I loved meeting our new niece and we had a blast spending time with Jackson. Despite a little bit of disinterest at first, Jackson took a real liking to Evie. We liked hearing him ask about Baby Evie throughout the rest of the day and though I am sure he will feel differently at some point in his life, we loved hearing about his excitement for her to come home.
