Sometimes couples can be a little shy in front of our cameras, at least at first anyway. We can almost always get them to be more comfortable int he spotlight, but it can sometimes take a little while to get used to having cameras around (and us too) and then even more used to the idea of kissing and being all cuddly during a session. The weather on the day of Krysten + Jon’s engagement session wasn’t looking the best as I headed out of the house, but in the end it worked out quite nicely. And it was the same leading up to their wedding day. The forecast was calling for not only rain, but thunderstorms on Saturday, and I am so glad it changed (I am thanking the anti-rain dancing that we [and I am sure all the other Ottawa photographers] were doing leading up to the weekend) – although to be honest, I could have done with a little less humidity, but beggars can’t be choosers.
So I am not entirely sure why but so far this year I have been getting so incredibly nervous before we head out to weddings (or sessions in general). Now, I am a kind of anxious person to begin with when it comes to plans and making sure I am on time, but when it came to Shannon + Kevin’s wedding day I was extra worked up all morning for what seemed like no reason at all.
As we drove back to Ottawa after Nathalie + Marc-Andre’s wedding, I told Dave (and he of course agreed 100%) I was absolutely certain that there was no better way to have officially started our 2017 wedding season than with this kind-hearted couple and their day!
