I love how kind the wedding industry experts are here in Ottawa! When I reached out to Stephanie and Kiley from Opportunity Knocks Events I knew our shoot would be great, but it was so much better than I had imagined and everyone involved was so awesome and inspirational. All of their hard work and talent really made shooting the session a breeze!
The amazingly talented ladies over at Opportunity Knocks Events came up with a great colour scheme to work from using Pantone’s colour of the year, Marsala. They teamed the naturally robust, and earthy wine colour with rich gold details and the colour duo really played well with the natural stone walls of Sidedoor Contemporary Kitchen & Bar.
Our model Vanessa was beautiful the moment she walked into Sidedoor, but Meghan from 2bu Esthetics & Makeup and Ann-Mary from AMC Hair Studio made her look absolutely stunning and really worked with the colour palette and dress for our shoot.
Sweeter by the Dozen brought in a scrumptious looking naked cake. Seriously, it was so hard not to eat that puppy while we were shooting, it smelt so good! (although we did end up picking off those raspberries when we were packing up, yum!)
The invitations and other stationary were designed by hand by Ivy Stripe. I absolutely loved the attention to detail and personal style they had! Mill Street Florist knocked it out of the park with their floral decor & bouquet. I love how they complimented the marsala coloured flowers with beautiful creams and ivy greens – and those hanging flowers, amazing!! And of course, the decor items provided by Mastermind Events really brought everything together.
Dominique Levesque Bridal brought a few different options for dresses for the shoot. It was really, really hard to choose between them but we ended up going with an illusion neckline dress that was simply gorgeous! It has just the right amount of lace and volume and of course, that extra bling that every bride deserves on her wedding day. And as an added bonus, she brought along an elegant faux fur coat to deal with the cold winter winds!
The shoot was so fun and at the end Sidedoor allowed us to snack on the food they had provided for the shoot and it was so incredible (om nom nom)! I will definitely be heading back there!!
