I cannot even begin to properly explain just how perfect Diana + John’s wedding day was as the start of our 2018 season. From being at one of our favourite venues to all the beautiful and personal details so perfectly infused throughout everything, it was truly lovely. But as usual, what that made this wedding day so great weren’t the actual things, but rather the people. Not only are Diana + John so incredibly nice (and funny to boot), but they are absolutely one of the sweetest couples we have had the pleasure and honour of working with over the years and they surrounded themselves with family and friends who are equally as wonderful!
I checked the weather forecast pretty much every day the week leading up to the wedding, hoping it would magically change and the rain (and potential thunderstorm) would be moved to another day (ideally a weekday so no one’s wedding would get rained out). But the forecast didn’t change, and it definitely rained on and off all day long. But in the end, not very much changed about their wedding at all.
Diana + John still had a gorgeous wedding day and having the Strathmere Inn as their venue worked in their favour as not only did it make it easy to get extra photos inside with all those beautiful architectural features, but it meant we didn’t have to walk around in the rain very far to get a lovely background. A towel for under Diana’s dress and a couple umbrellas and we were good to go as these two really didn’t let a little (or even a lot) of rain stop them.
And in hindsight, that makes total sense as John calls Diana his sunshine, it’s even engraved inside her wedding band, so really, no amount of rain could have taken the sunshine out of this wedding day!
