So Dave and I spent a couple days on the rooftop of the Brookstreet Hotel having some fun with Make-A-Wish earlier this month. I’ll be sharing more about all of that (including the photos of course) a little later on this week, but for now, the part I want to share is that I of course got sunburnt. My side of the roof was in the shade for almost the entire day, and I swear I used sunscreen – but for the last 1-2 hours of the event, I was in complete sun on the roof of a very tall building.
I mention this because when I showed up to Miranda + Jason’ engagement session, I made sure I was covered from head to toe (well, from neck to toe) to try and make sure my poor skin didn’t get any worse. And despite how uncomfortable it was to walk around in the sun and heat with long sleeves on, it was made all the better by being able to work with two absolutely marvelous people like Miranda + Jason.
And of course, the fact that Miranda was also sporting some pretty sunburnt skin meant we could commiserate together.
But honestly, I would forget about my discomfort anytime we were actually shooting as Miranda + Jason were a blast to work with! They were absolutely hilarious throughout the entire session and I had so much fun walking around the arboretum with them. In fact, we were chatting so much, that we ended up walking all the way down to the Hartwell Locks across from Carleton University. That’s not a bad thing at all though as we got some great shots down there, but it was a longer walk than I was originally planning for the session.
I am so looking forward to their wedding next year! Because if it is even half as entertaining as their engagement session then it will be so fantastic!
