Winter definitely came early this year, but fortunately for me, Tara + Dion were actually looking forward to a session with a light dusting of snow … although we did end up with a fair bit more than a dusting.
The snow fell and fell the days leading up to their engagement session and it made the drive out to their family cottage absolutely stunning!! One of my favourite things is winter trees filled with snow so I loved seeing them all as I drove along the back roads through the countryside. But what made this engagement session even better is that it wasn’t just an engagement session as Tara + Dion had included Keegan in their session making it a family affair as well!
Not only was it great to get to know all of them, but Keegan made the session so much fun. And I love that Tara + Dion wanted to ensure he was included in their session. In fact, when Dion proposed to Tara, she had let him know in advance that if Keegan wasn’t a part of it, she would need him to redo the whole thing with Keegan around. He is such an important member of their family and I love that he has been included in this whole journey, and continues to be as they plan their upcoming wedding.
This truly was such a great session and the colder than expected weather turned out to not be a problem at all as these three were real troopers when it came to bearing the chilly winds coming off of the water. We popped in and out of the house a few times to make sure no one got too uncomfortable, and there was an obligatory cinnamon bun break in there too!
Huge thanks to Tara, Dion and Keegan for letting me be a part of this moment in their family’s journey, it really was so special to be able to capture it all for you!
