Winter definitely came early this year, but fortunately for me, Tara + Dion were actually looking forward to a session with a light dusting of snow … although we did end up with a fair bit more than a dusting.
So we all know that Ottawa is cold this time of the year. And therefore, whether or not you have been part of one, you could figure out that outdoor engagement session (or really outdoor sessions of any kind) could be a little more than uncomfortable when you factor in all the time spent without coats on. And that is why looking at indoor locations can be a really great idea for your session. So when Hannah + Curtis suggested doing their photos in and around the Canadian Museum of Nature, I was super on board!
I first met Alyssa + David in a coffee shop halfway between our two homes. We chatted for a good long while about their plans. When they mentioned that they wanted to do their engagement session at a restaurant, I felt it was oh so fitting to keep with the cute indoor settings.
Alyssa + David had planned for a primarily indoor engagement session from the get-go, so when the weather called for a boatload of rain on the day of their session (in February), we all figured it didn’t really impact the plans too much. It’s funny how things work out in the end really, as for most of our couples, that much rain on their session date would end up in having to rescheduling the whole thing to another (hopefully) drier day.
