This wedding was everything we ever could have asked or hoped for when it comes to wrapping up our 2021 wedding season. Not only was the weather stunning (albeit a touch chilly) complete with a gorgeous sunset at the end of the night, but it also happened to be at our absolute favourite venue. But of course, the thing that really made it so special and wonderful was the people, particularly Sarah + Seb who were just the sweetest ever!
I know I say that about a lot of our couples, and it is true every time I say it, but when it comes to Sarah + Seb, it wasn’t just me saying it. In fact, all day long wedding guest and even the other vendors just kept mentioning how kind and thoughtful this amazing couple was. I mean, there was nothing that could get these two down throughout their day.
Sarah day started off with her hairpiece falling apart, but she wasn’t phased. Dad was called in and immediately set out to find glue so it could be repaired. He eventually came back with a few options in hand, after skipping the line by accurately stating that this broken hairpiece was holding up his daughter’s wedding! And it did hold us up honestly. But the bride and Shannon (yay for awesome hair stylists!) got it all fixed up and although we ended up being about an hour behind schedule, we got out the door and off to the venue.
Now that hour behind schedule part may be stressing some of you out. But even that didn’t seem to bother Sarah or Seb. Dave and I kept in touch via text throughout the morning so both sides of prep were well aware of the delay and we reworked the pre-ceremony schedule to make sure we could get back on track. And through the magic of first looks working on double-time, Sarah was walking down that aisle right on schedule! Add to that the fact that we whipped through family photos afterwards because of their family’s awesome cooperation (and possible desire to get into the warm interior of the building, haha!), and the sheer awesomeness that is the Temple’s staff, we actually ended up dinner early.
You heard that right, we went from an hour behind schedule to nearly 45 minutes ahead of schedule without anyone feeling rushed, panicked or stressed. I was utterly amazed and could not stop mentioning it to Dave. I was just so darn impressed with everyone’s hard work behind the scenes. And of course none of us minded because Sarah + Seb deserved nothing but the absolute best!
Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
