My best friend growing up had four younger siblings on her mom’s side and whenever I would visit I always wondered how her mom did it. It seemed like it would be so tiring to keep them all entertained throughout the day, and completely overwhelming to go anywhere with all of the kids in tow. But she did, and she did it wonderfully. And The Roses are doing it wonderfully too. Their four kids are seriously some of the best listeners I have worked with. Every time I have had them in front of my camera they have done so well.
It can be tough to sit still and listen, especially when you have 3 other siblings to wait for and try not to get distracted by. But somehow these kids always get the job done and make my time with them so much fun! The bigger ones help out the smaller ones and we all end up having a really great time. And there is always a reward at the end.
For this session, the reward was getting to play on the massive play structure at Hog’s Back Park and the kids seemed to love it! It also meant that Mom and Dad got a little bit of time for a few photos of just them. Between spotting each kid on jungle gym of course, haha!
You would think the hardest part of a large family session would be getting all the kiddos to look at the same direction at the same time. And that you would end up having to do a lot of head swapping in Photoshop while editing. But honestly, I didn’t have to do any of that while I edited these photos. In fact, the only hard part was keeping all their gorgeous blonde hair from blowing out on such a bright, sunny day, haha!
