How is it possible that an entire year has already passed since I first met this sweet little girl?! It has been a true joy to be able to capture so many of Katherine + Mike’s milestones over the years and getting to see them as parents really is the icing on the cake. I have had so much fun capturing Eliza’s first year portraits and I can’t wait to get them all edited and handed over to her amazing parents.
And of course, Eliza was sweetness personified. I mean, look at that darling smile with those couple of chompers! Oh how I love those toothy grins! But don’t let that smile deceive you, Eliza made us all work during her first year portraits. All she wanted to do was move about and explore everything. Sitting still was definitely not on her checklist for the day. But Mom and Dad did a wonderful job helping me wrangle her so we could capture all of that cuteness on camera.
Plus she knew exactly what to do with that cake. Mind you, she had to deal with the delicious raspberries on top first of course. Toddlers have to live up to that berry budget expectation of course (if you know, you know).
I have to be honest here, I am going to miss seeing her sweet little face (and those of her parents too) for the next little bit. I had gotten used to having Eliza’s next session on the calendar and now that she is graduating out of the studio and into lifestyle sessions I won’t be seeing her every 6 months or so. I suppose I will just have to deal with seeing her next year, where I am sure she will want to sit still even less than she did for this session, haha!
