When Chantal + Brendan asked if they could alter their engagement session for a part engagement part family session I of course said yes. We have done a few of these over the years and it is a great way to let your entire family be part of your engagement and just the photo session in general. But upon meeting Tessa and their pup Maya, I am so, so glad they wanted them to be included because not only is Maya such a good doggo, but Tessa is without a doubt the coolest ten year old I have ever met!

Tanya + Scott’s engagement session was nothing if not filled with love and laughter! Honestly, they could not stop laughing, Tanya more so than Scott, but still, it was just such a joy to be around as laughter really is contagious! I really can’t think of any better way to spend an evening than walking around a beautiful area filled with nature and historic buildings with two souls as wonderful as Tanya + Scott!
I often get asked by couples planning their engagement session, ‘what happens if it rains?’. And I pretty much always answer with the fact that it is really up to them. Most couples choose to reschedule their session for another day, others like to roll the dice and see if the forecast is wrong, or if there will be a big enough break in the cloud to squeeze their session in. And some like to just roll with the punches and let their session be rainy.
Yep so I definitely have favourite spots around the city and am drawn to them again and again. And even if I use the exact same locations in these spots, each couple makes it their own and I have a completely different experience (albeit I am lucky that they have always been super positive experiences so far as I get to work with the greatest clients ever!!!). Courtney + Scott were not only great to walk around this wonderful little trail with, but they are just so darn cute! I loved all of their genuine laughs and cuddles!
I like to think that everyone has a spot (or maybe a couple) in their town/city that is special to them. Maybe a memorable event happened their or just it is a place where they can go and clear their head. My list of places has changed and grown over the years, but Hog’s Back Park will always be close to my heart. And I know it will be special for Samantha + Damjan too as their relationship grew here as they trained for marathons and just generally got to know one another better running through the park’s paths.
