Ottawa Ornamental Gardens Lifestyle Maternity Session: The Radulovics

Where do I even start with this one?! Seriously I don’t know. Samantha + Damjan are honest-to-goodness two of the nicest, most thoughtful people Dave + I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Their engagement session took my breath away and their wedding day was one of the most touching and heart-warming celebrations we have gotten to be a part of. So when Damjan reached out to me about their maternity session, I was so ridiculously excited – and even more so because it was all a complete surprise for Sam!!

Ottawa Arboretum Anniversary Session: Mary-Gail + Michael

Fall-Arboretum-Anniversary-Session-Ottawa-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographySome DJs do what is called an anniversary dance to kick off the evening. They bring all the couples onto the dance floor and as the song plays they slowly dwindle down the group by getting the more recently married couples to sit back down. In the end, the longest marriages stand before everyone and it is always so amazing and inspiring to see them still in love, but more than that, still having a great time together! I don’t think Sarah + Kelvin’s wedding day had an anniversary dance, but if they had Sarah’s parents Mary-Gail + Michael, with 38 years of married happiness, definitely would have been standing in front of everyone at the end of the song.

Sheila McKee Park Anniversary Portrait Session: Karen + Jason

Anniversary-Portrait-Session-Sheila-McKee-Park-Stephanie-Beach-Photography-fall-forestI know I have said it before, in fact I am pretty sure I have said it multiple times this year alone, but we get to work with the very best couples. Amazing people who are so lovely! But when the wedding day is over, it can sometimes be a while before we get to see them again.

Our calendars are so full during the year, that we don’t get a ton of free time to hang out with people outside of weddings and other sessions – at least not during the peak seasons. Now, I’m not complaining, because I do love my job very much, but it is always great to catch up with some of the people we photographed on their wedding days and finding the time for that can be difficult. And that’s why I was so excited when Jay reached out to me about an anniversary session for him and his wife Karen!

Happy Anniversary Sarah + Anders

Ottawa Backyard Wedding Stephanie Beach PhotographyIt seems weird to say that an entire year has passed since¬†we were lucky enough to photograph Sarah + Anders’ wedding day. That’s ¬†right, it was a year ago that we were and tromping through the mud, looking for the nearest umbrella or canopy for our subjects, and just generally trying to keep our gear dry. In other words, it was an amazing wedding and I would redo every sopping minute of it in a heartbeat.

My Supporter

Stephanie Beach Photography 01Today marks the second anniversary for my husband and I. Two years ago we finally walked down the aisle and made our commitment to one another official (although, I still say that the hefty mortgage we signed a year and half before our wedding was a pretty big commitment to one another, but I suppose our wedding was much more romantic).
