O M freaking G, guys, this session was seriously amazing! Truth be told, I wasn’t in the greatest mood when I left my house for Erica + Matt’s session. All I really wanted to do was stay home and watch one of my favourite TV shows while I sifted through my most recent edits. Nothing was really wrong, it was just one of those days that I thought I would rather be on my own. But yeah, I was very wrong as not only was this location stunning (and just got better the further we got along the trail), but these two were just the bestest ever to hang out with!

Ottawa Fall Engagement Session at Lime Kiln Trail: Jessica + Adam
Lime Kiln Trail is almost always on my list of recommending locations whenever someone asks for a fall setting. And for good reason too, it has some great colour-filled trees and as an added bonus, lots of other areas and features to add diversity to a session. That being said, I tend to only want to shoot there once a season, so I also tend to hold onto to it for just the right couple, and I knew Jessica + Adam were perfect for the spot, and it for them!

Family sessions with little ones can sometimes be a little nerve-wracking for parents. Worrying about whether or not their tiny humans are going to cooperate and have fun during the session, or just have a tantrum. And then if the latter does happen, will they just be done for the entire session, or will they be consolable and come back around? It’s definitely stressful and can make any parent a little anxious. Luckily though, I’m pretty darn good with kids and babies and toddlers tend to like me (fingers crossed that I am not jinxing myself for my upcoming toddler-filled sessions). And that means I am normally able to comfort little ones and make sure they have a great time during their session. And hey, when all else fails, there is always good old fashion bribery (and there’s nothing wrong with that)!
So with all of that said, it didn’t surprise me when little Owen turned out to not be a really big fan of being told what to do during the McNally’s family session.

From the moment the pandemic hit our area and shut down business and weddings, Tanya + Scott knew they wanted to keep their wedding date just as it was. They didn’t want to wait another year to get married even if it meant a tiny elopement. Tanya let me know this right from the first email I sent out all of our clients, letting them know their options with us and all that jazz. And as I watched more and more of our 2020 weddings get postponed to next year, it was a really nice comfort knowing that I would get to work with at least one of our awesome couples before the year was over.
And these two definitely made the day so much fun! Which is particularly nice since this was our last wedding of the year and I do love ending our season with a fun-filled day and a couple I truly adore!

Some couples we just click with. When we meet I instantly know that I am the photographer for them and they are the couple for me. We could talk endlessly about all the very best (and nerdiest) of things and have a wonderful time doing so. Nadine + Kevin are definitely one of those couples!
