In starting and restarting this post as many times as I have this morning, I have come to realize that writing a blog post about your own family session is actually really tricky. But this will get written and may be this time I won’t end up deleting everything and restarting from scratch – haha!Continue reading “Lifestyle Family Photography: The Konings + Brickells”
Technically we had already postponed this session by the time I headed out of the house towards Mariah + Ben for their lifestyle newborn and family shoot. The weather was supposed to be quite bad complete with not only rain, but thunderstorms, and because of that we had decided to move the session to the following week. But about 2 hours before I was supposed to leave, the sky was still absolutely lovely and the forecast changed entirely – well, it changed for the 1-2 hours the actual shooting would take place and that was good enough for everyone involved! A willow tree, run through the sprinkler, splash in the pool, and lots of adorable hugs — this family session pretty much had it all, including three of the kindest people ever. I absolutely adore this little family and any day I get to hang out with them is always a great one!!
We have been offering Lifestyle Family Sessions for almost as long as we have been capturing weddings, but this past year we opened up the Newborn + Family Studio and I have loved every second of it! Being able to offer both styles to our families is so awesome.
I got to work with so many wonderful families and little ones in 2019 and getting to be part of all of these precious moments is really special to me. So much so that I have decided to add a new end-of-year post to celebrate all these adorable little babes + families. Hold onto your hats everyone, because this post is an absolute cuteness overload!
The drive out to their new home was definitely a long one, in fact, it was the longest I have driven for a newborn session (to date at least), but it gave me a lot of time to think. And although I spent an equal sized portion of the drive singing along to some great songs, I also ended up reminiscing about all the wonderful sessions I have been lucky enough to capture for Chantal + Mathieu. During their engagement session and then their wedding I quickly learned just how amazingly kind these two people are. And getting to meet the new tiny person they created was definitely a highlight of my Fall season!
