St. Patrick's Cathedral + All Saint's Event Space Wedding: Rowan + Andrew

St-Patricks-Cathedral-All-Saints-Event-Space-Ottawa-Wedding-Stephanie-Beach-Photography I don’t even know where to start with this wedding day – there were just so many amazing moments and surprises throughout the entire wedding that I am having a hard time writing a cohesive blog post that includes everything I want it to. But then I remembered that I am not a writer but rather a photographer and what you are probably really here for are the pictures – and Rowan + Andrew’s wedding day definitely has loads of those to share with you all!!

Their wedding day started off the same as most of them do – prep. When I got to bride prep the lovely details were all laid out for me and all I had to do was add a couple ribbons, a ring box and play! I have mentioned many, many times before how much I love starting my day off with detail shots and these images definitely show why! Classic and timeless stationary design mixed with beautiful jewelry pieces (including family heirlooms) and the most perfect dish ever – I was truly in heaven! But my favourite part about this portion of Rowan’s day were how amazing all these lovely ladies were! Everyone was so much fun and I had such a great time chatting with them all, especially since everyone really got my sarcastic humour! And of course, we wrapped it all up with a truly adorable moment as Rowan and her Dad shared a very special first look in their enchanting backyard garden.

Meanwhile, Dave got to hang out with the guys and basically just have a ton of fun! Handsome, fun-loving guys mixed with a man cave, great looks, and a bunch of bikes definitely makes for great photos! But then there was that car! This beauty made appearances throughout the entire day and I am so glad it did! Andrew’s Dad drove it more than 7 hours (if memory serves) to get to Ottawa and then handed over the keys to the Groom. It really seemed like such a special addition for the Bride + Groom to be able to drive this puppy around town and we of course included it in a few shots throughout the day too!

Yep, so I am officially over my minimum word count for blog posts, and I haven’t even gotten to the ceremony – no fears about having a short blog post for this one! The ceremony was so gorgeous. The staff at St. Patrick’s Cathedral were very helpful and kind and the cathedral itself really is stunning! It was the perfect backdrop for Rowan + Andrew’s ceremony.

And Stratcona Park was an equally great location for their portraits! Not only did we have a great wedding party to work with, and keep us entertained as we strolled through the park, but we had the cutest little surprise visitor as a random puppy came bounding into the shot! Luckily, he seemed pretty well behaved and there were no damages to dresses, just a few pets and he was on his way. Some perfect light, all these beautiful people, a nice chunk of time set aside for us and I was a very happy camper indeed! We even managed to squeeze in a stop for ice cream on the way out – I mean, does it get better than impromptu ice cream in the middle of your wedding day?

Last but certainly not least there was the reception. The absolutely breathtaking space at All Saints Events is beyond words and we loved getting to incorporate the architecture into Rowan + Andrew’s wedding day! And, as an added bonus, these two turned out to be super smarty-pants when it came to their timeline. Rowan + Andrew had set aside time for not only a few extra Bride + Groom portraits at the venue (because with a space like this how could you not?!), but they also set aside a good chunk of time where they could just sit and relax. Just them, some beers and taste-testing of appetizers as they headed up to their guests during cocktail hour. Honestly, this was not only a great time for a few extra photos, but it was so nice for them to be able to have a moment to themselves on a day where it is really hard to have time like that.

There were so many other moments throughout Rowan + Andrew’s wedding day that I would have loved to include in this blog post, but it really is pretty long already. So, let’s just to say that this was a wonderful wedding day and we loved every second we were a part of! Thank you Rowan + Andrew for including us, and also for having such lovely people in your lives as we also just loved getting to hang out with the two of you and all your friends and family!!
