I am always so incredibly impressed when I get to work with this amazing family. Not only are the kiddos extremely well behaved, but they are kind and thoughtful of one another, and super helpful to me too! Every time they have joined me in the studio, or we have met at a park for a family session, all four of these little ones and their wonderful parents have been an absolute joy to be around. And things weren’t any different for Cedric’s First Year Portraits and Cake Smash Session.
Mom and Dad also have things down pat when it comes to understanding their kid’s behaviours, personalities and time limits. For example, any time we do a studio session together they know in advance that having all four of them in my space will be a lot for them. They incredibly good at listening and cooperating for their photos, and the older sisters do a marvelous job helping with their little brothers to keep them both entertained and roughly in their spots for the photos, but there is always a limit when it comes to kids and their ability to sit still when they are just so darn excited!
So with that in mind Mom and Dad know we will be working quickly to get photos of all the kids together, and then one parent takes the older kids to a park for their play date reward for being so good, while the other stays back with the star of the session, birthday boy Cedric in this case. Not only does it make it easier for them to focus on their session, but it also gives them some special one-on-one time where they get to have all the attention on them.
And boy-oh-boy did Cedric ever do an amazing job for his cake smash! He was super adorable for his portraits and got right into things when his chocolatey cake came out. He didn’t do much smashing, in fact he had more of a poking approach to his cake, but he was super cute and definitely enjoyed the delicious cake his Mom had prepared for him.
