Ottawa Wedding + Newborn Photographers who know what's it like to be awkward in front of the camera

I have always had a passion for photography, from a very young age I was the girl with the camera snapping shots of my family and friends. My parents encouraged this passion and enrolled me in my first photography course at the local college when I was still in high school. I fell even more in love with photography and the ability to capture those special moments in life. After completing the Environmental Engineering program at Carleton University, I continued my photographic education at Algonquin College by completing the Digital Photography certificate program.
My photographic style is environmental photojournalism. I love getting those special candid moments during an event, I feel they capture the real personality of my subjects and the true feeling of the day. I pride myself in my professional yet comfortable approach to photography and my ability to deliver high quality images you and your family will cherish for years to come.
Every so often I get messages from parents about whether or not their slightly older baby can still do a newborn session – and my answer is almost always yes, and at the very worst, the answer is we can certainly try!
For years I have gathered things and held onto them. Not so much in a hoarding way, more of a ‘I’m going to craft something with this later’ kind of way. For example, when we had to cut down the lilac tree in our backyard (it had died for some unknown reason), I had Dave cut me some long branches for a project I had in mind. About 7 or so years later, and the branches are now called sticks and they are still in a corner in my craft room. I mean, I will eventually get around to that project … maybe.
I love milestone sessions! Not only do I get to hang out with wee babes just that little bit more before they grow up, I get to watch and document them as they do it!
Little Baby Leo came with his entire family and entourage for his 100 Days Milestone Session and it was so nice to be able to see his loved ones rally around him to celebrate this moment in his life. 100 Days is an important milestone in the Chinese culture as it represents the wish that the baby will live 100 years and reaches longevity, and it was such an honour to be able to capture this special day for this wonderful family!
Sweet Baby Selim was just absolutely darling throughout his entire newborn session. Not only did he give me multiple teeny baby smiles during his time in front of the camera, but he was just so darn lovable!!
Whenever I post about a twin newborn session I inevitably get the same question asked of me: is it harder to do a twin session than a singleton session? And the quick answer is of, yes. But when the babies are as cute as Mia + Olivia and the parents are as sweet as Meaghan + Sammy, it is oh so very worth the extra effort!
