I think it is only right for me to start of this blog post by letting you know that this session was really special for me. Not only was it a family session for one of our previous wedding couples (and an amazing couple with a very memorable wedding day to say the least), but it was also special because of Big Sister Olivia. You see, Baby Dominic’s big sister was one of my first newborns in the studio and she is officially the first studio #SBNewborn to return as a big sibling!!

You really never know what you’re going to be greeted with when it comes to big siblings. Sometimes they are super keen on being a part of the session and other times they want nothing to do with it. Every once in a while you find yourself somewhere in between (for example, a grumpy toddler who will be in the photos but not be happy about it, haha!), but more often than not, it’s one extreme or another. I am just oh so happy (and lucky) that when it came to Baby Mackenzie’s session, Big Sister Aubrey was the former and was absolutely thrilled that is was photo day!

I have seen these photos all over the internet many time before. Sweet little RCMP babies in their parent’s hat, looking oh so very adorable, and very Canadian. And of course it was a setup I very much wanted to try, but let’s be honest, it’s a pretty particular situation. I mean, it’s not exactly like you can just do this one for just any family. But then comes the reminder that I live in Ottawa and have actually had a few Mountie weddings in the past. So long story short, when Brittany asked if it was something we could include in Kinsley’s newborn session, I was over the moon!!

Wow, where do I even start with this darling little one?! I mean, seriously, Cigi has been my amazing little model since she first came in for her newborn session. She rocked so many backgrounds, headbands, and outfits that I have used her photos time and time again for both my photography business and Prop Shoppe business. In fact, she modeled our number one seller over on the prop shoppe and I definitely think it’s success is partially thanks to her!!
