I think it is only right for me to start of this blog post by letting you know that this session was really special for me. Not only was it a family session for one of our previous wedding couples (and an amazing couple with a very memorable wedding day to say the least), but it was also special because of Big Sister Olivia. You see, Baby Dominic’s big sister was one of my first newborns in the studio and she is officially the first studio #SBNewborn to return as a big sibling!!
It’s a special honour to be able to capture any newborn session, but being able to have captured studio sessions for both Baby #1 and Baby #2 for this wonderful couple really was a treat! But let’s be honest, despite her beaming smile and super good behaviour, the real star of the show was indeed Baby Dominic. He was such a little cutie and getting to cuddle with and pose him was definitely the best way to spend my Sunday morning.
Now that being said, he definitely made me work for his photos. There were a couple snack breaks and lots of cuddle and rocking time throughout his session – pretty much between every pose to be honest. But he really was just so precious and adorable that it was oh so very worth it in the end. And in his defense, it is actually really normal that these wee babes get a little tired and worn out after the first portion of their shoot. Between being held differently by Mom and Dad and waiting as we convince Big Sis into sitting and holding her new baby brother, it has a tendency to wear these little creatures out. So with that in mind, Dominic was actually a rock star and he let me work through a lot the setups and outfits that I had prepared for him and he did them all so wonderfully too!
