Ottawa Wedding + Newborn Photographers who know what's it like to be awkward in front of the camera
This family really is one of our absolute favourites and I absolutely love getting to catch up with them so often. Whether it be to capture the wedding day of one of their family members, or to get some great family photos of themselves, it really is always such a lovely time.
But really, anytime day with this ridiculously cute little girl is obviously going to be a great one!
I grew up with an older brother who, if I’m being honest, I wasn’t super close to until we became adults (mostly just because we didn’t have a lot in common growing up). And now that I think about it, most of my current friends also consist of two kid families with one boy and one girl. And the few that lie outside that trend tend to be boy-boy combos (or they are 1 of 3 kids, but again more boys than girls). All this to say that my experience with sisters has been limited over the years (other than sisters-in-law of course, wherein I am super lucky and have pretty awesome ones!).

I absolutely love getting to catch up with our clients over the years. Watching them grow their families and progress in their lives is so amazing! And it is made even better by the fact that our clients truly are some of the best people out there.
I was so excited to get to work with Naomi + Adam again, and getting to see their adorable little girl, Evalyn again was just such a joy!

Newborn sessions are a little different than other sessions. They can take a little extra time depending on the baby’s mood as you really can’t tell a newborn what to do. Well I mean, you can tell them what to do, but that doesn’t really mean anything to them. I have learned over the years that the trick to these sessions is to be flexible and adjust to what the little one needs/wants at the time.
When it came time for Kane’s session, he decided that he didn’t really want photos on his own or really to be posed at all. But that’s alright, because as much as this lifestyle session was about Kane, it was also about this new family of four.
Dave and I wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!! We hope everyone is getting a chance to enjoy some quality time with the people they love the most (and share some delicious food too).
I don’t think there is any better way to celebrate this holiday of togetherness and thankfulness than with a sneak peek of Baby Kane’s newborn session as this little guy really does embody so much of both of those things.
