I often get asked by our couples if I just go around town looking for interesting locations – and the answer is yes, yes I do. And the result is a spreadsheet full of location ideas so I can suggest a spot that fits the personalities of our couples. So when I chatted with Krysten + Jon about their engagement session, I had a pretty good feeling that Beaver Pond Trail would be a great place for theirs!

There are a lot of factors that go into making an engagement session really great. The environment we are working in and the weather on the day are ones that jump quickly to my mind, and the light is pretty crucial of course, but the most important factor is the people. You could have the greatest location in the world, but if you fill it with the wrong couple, then the session goes downhill fast. Alternatively, you could have a so-so location, but if you get to work with great people, then the session can still be absolutely lovely! Luckily for me, I get to work with some of the very, very best people as part of my job. People like Krysten + Jon.

The snow seems to finally be gone now (well mostly) and even though I am glad to see the first signs of Spring popping up around the neighbourhood, I absolutely loved getting to capture one last portrait session with the gorgeous winter backdrop.

Marie-France + Jonathan were one of our absolutely amazing 2016 wedding couples. Their wedding day was beautiful and was, without a doubt, an absolute blast for everyone – including us! And right after they got their wedding photos, they let me know that I would hopefully be hearing from them in the next year or so as they started their family – and less than a year later, that’s exactly what happened!
