Ottawa Family Session at Andrew Haydon Park: The Griffioens

Ottawa-Family-Photography-Andrew-Haydon-Park-Stephanie-Beach-PhotographyOne of my favourite things about my job is the relationships we create with our clients. To us, photographing a wedding day is so much more than just that one day – and my favourite moments often come from the sessions we end up doing with our clients as they live the rest of their lives.

Don’t get me wrong, I feel pretty darn fortunate to have been part of Sarah + Anders’ wedding day, and we had an absolute blast for sure, but getting to watch them start and now expand their family has been so amazing! And getting to hang out with their tiny humans is pretty fantastic as they really are great kids!

I really did love getting to hang out with one of our favourite families again, especially as Emily showed off all of her amazing dances moves. She even got to do them on the big stage – and as an added bonus, she is far, far, far from camera shy! And little Henry did a fantastic job in front of the lens too. He was full of smiles and just general adorableness, especially with that coat complete with ears! I love coats, hats, sweaters, etc. with ears – in fact, I may own one or two myself. And of course, getting to play with Lando again is a definitely plus to any session with these guys. He still draws quite a few comments when people see photos of him at the wedding day, because how can an adorable pup in a bow tie not get compliments?!

But I’m really not surprised at all at how great these kids (and pup) are and how well behaved they were during the whole session – because honestly, they have two of the best people out there as parents!

And, because it happens every time I work with these guys, the weather was  of course, a little less than ideal, although the company more than made up for it. It didn’t rain during our actual session as it did on their wedding day, but similar to their previous family session, it started just as I was driving home. It’s like Mother Nature knew I would be hanging out with them again and decided to make things consistent for us.
