Hanging out with two of my all-time favourite people in one of my absolutely favourite locations here in Ottawa definitely made for a magical evening. And of course the fact that those 2 people are really 2 + 1 people made it even better!!!

Petrie Island Lifestyle Family Session: Ella
When I was little my Dad and I would go for these long drives, and we would pretty much always end up watching the geese somewhere. And now, anytime I see them, it instantly reminds me of him. To this day, I actually still call them ‘gooses’ because that it was he and I always called them. But I have to correct myself around little clients as I don’t want to accidentally teach them the wrong word, haha!
But that really wasn’t an issue for Little Ella as she knew exactly what they were and loved pointing them out to us again and again during her family session.

I have heard many times that babies have a tendency of being born with similar physical characteristics to their father. Something about having that automatic realization that it is theirs (since they didn’t carry the baby for the previous 40 weeks). But there is similarity and then there is Baby Henry, who is basically a teeny tiny clone of his Dad. Which has basically resulted in me calling his tiny Kyle, Baby Kyle, etc. ever since I first met this adorable baby!

Okay, so, remember the post from yesterday where I asked which was better, a family with three kiddos with twins as your first pregnancy, or twins as your second? Well, here’s the interesting thing (from my perspective at least), I got to see both sides of it within just a few days of one another. I had a session with toddlers twins and their newborn sister, promptly followed up with adorable Big Sister Mila who was more than happy to show off her new baby brothers, Maxime + Cedric. And although I still don’t know which is the better situation, I can tell you wrangling one toddler was definitely easier than wrangling two, haha!

At the end of her baby girl’s session, Sylvie and I ended up chatting about what she thought the best way to have twins was – meaning, is it better to have them first and then follow-up with a third baby, or have one baby first followed by twins. And honestly, I don’t know the answer.
