It seems so fitting that it is raining as I write this blog post as that was like an unofficial extra theme of Tarah + Derek’s wedding day. It was raining when we arrived at prep and it poured pretty much the rest of the day. But honestly, I don’t think anyone really cared. I mean, at the end of the day these two wonderful people were married and everyone had a great time – and really, isn’t that what really matters?!
That being said, we were lucky enough to have a itty bitty amount of time where the rain let up. So we grabbed the wedding party and did a couple photos outside the reception venue and then a handful of extra Bride and Groom photos just to make sure there were lots of options for them down the road. And the sky that night was unbelievable – seriously, so awesome! Credit to Dave for going out to see what it looked like and to see if the rain had stopped. Lucky for us the sky was super dramatic and the rain had let up again. It was the absolutely perfect way to wrap up and already lovely day.
On a side note, Dave and I bought some new flashes last year that are radio triggered, meaning they don’t need to see each other to be able to work. I am absolutely in love with them. And it was at Tarah + Derek’s wedding that I learnt just how far these things will work! While we were out grabbing those extra wedding party photos, my off-camera flash inside was apparently still triggering since I forgot to turn off the setting when we stepped away from the reception. Luckily we weren’t out there for long, but good to know that we can get some really good distance on these puppies!
Thanks to all of these amazing vendors who helped make this wedding possible!
