When Rebecca + Keith emailed me to introduce their new baby girl, I must admit I was stumped for a second. They shared her name and it definitely took me a second to figure out how to pronounce it. I then confirmed said pronunciation via Google so I would be sure to say it correctly when I got to meet her in person (thanks internet!). And since you may now be wondering, it is pronounced like the beginning of Island and it is honestly one of the prettiest, original names I have heard in a while.
And Little Baby Isla lives up to that name as she was all-around lovely. A beautiful baby girl and already such a lovely personality. She was so good during her session, so much so in fact that when she had a tiny poop-splosion, she was kind enough to keep it all in her diaper and not over my brand spanking new white background, haha!! If you are a newborn photographer, or really have spent any time around babies, you know how much of a gamble it is to have anything white near them, especially when it is new and something you like, haha!
Now, in scrolling through her photos, you may notice that she looks rather unhappy in one or two, and you may be thinking, that doesn’t look like ‘good’ for a newborn session. But honestly, the little crankiness Isla had in the middle of her session wasn’t anything at all. After a diaper change and some more food, she was right as rain and really, every single newborn session has at least one break in it for such things.
And if Mom and Dad look familiar to you, it may be because we worked with this lovely duo for their engagement session and wedding day a couple years ago. Their wedding day was one of the most fun times we have had at a wedding as Keith kept us in stitches all day. And given the fact that he has made me laugh heartily each and every time I have hung out with him, I am pretty sure both Rebecca and Baby Isla will have many happy days ahead of them!
