The most recent lockdown was extra hard for me (as I am sure it was for most people). I hated being closed again and for so long, and I really hated watching online as so many SBFamilies had their new babies and weren’t able to bring them in for their session.
Luckily though, I have become pretty good at working with much ‘older’ babies over the last year and a half, so when Baby Maggie was finally able to come in for her newborn photos, we were still able to get some truly adorable images!
At 7 weeks old, this little babe was definitely outside of the typical range for a studio newborn session, but we were still able to make it work. And although it may have taken a little extra rocking and cuddling time, Maggie did such a great job with her time in front of the camera! She even put up with me squeezing her into an outfit that was a wee bit tight for her – but it was so cute and she was so sleepy that I couldn’t resist!
I of course absolutely loved getting to catch up with her parents! I met Rose through our work for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario. She has since moved on to another position elsewhere, but she was definitely one of the truly amazing people who made volunteering for Make-A-Wish even more special than those inspirational kiddos already made it (I can’t wait until we can start working with them again once things are safe from everyone again). And getting to chat with her without having to run off mid sentence to capture a moment, or for her to deal with one thing or another for the charity was super nice! And getting to listen to Rik’s accent was a nice bonus too, haha! But let’s be honest, it was really all about this darling little girl.
